I was so close to having my Mom-Shit together this school year.
I took off the two days before school started. I put my foot down on replacing perfectly good back packs and lunch boxes just because it was a new year (even though I wanted a new lunch bag, so bad!). I organized closets. I visited and re-visited the pediatrician's office to get everyone up-to-date.
And I made dentist appointments for all four of my girls. This little task made me feel so organized and on top of things! I confirmed the appointment last week. Chatted about it over the weekend with my husband and mother. Then, on the morning of the big day, I sat down with my toddler and a cup of coffee, relishing my Monday away from the office and consumed with thoughts of re-organizing last year's school uniforms. Then I started watching My Little Pony.
You see, Apple Bloom hasn't yet earned her cutie mark, but all the other ponies her age have. And some of those "mature" ponies can be real bitches.
While contemplating Apple Bloom's predicament, I completely spaced the dentist appointments.
In the end, we made it there 30 minutes late. They were very forgiving. The kids are back in school now, another year gone.
Wishing you a highly productive and organized new school year!
