Book Review: The Perfect Recipe for Losing Weight...by Pam Anderson

The Perfect Recipe for Losing Weight and Eating Great by Pam Anderson (not that Pam Anderson) is more than just a cookbook. It's a lifestyle. A lifestyle that includes a cookie at 4 pm and a glass of wine before dinner. Daily! Here is a woman who figured out what worked for her and provided us with all her recipes.

I love that she shared her story in the forward - one that most moms can relate to - of slowly gaining weight while taking care of everyone but herself. She explained how, once her kids were grown and out of the house, she had the time and focus to change habits (exercising 3 times per day) and drop 50 lbs.

Even better, the food looks amazing! Most of the recipes are presented with several variations so you can avoid boredom by adapting the recipe, still using the primary technique and base ingredients.

Oh, and did I mention, she has an entire chapter devoted to those 4 pm cookies and another to pre-dinner snacks to pair with wine? Who wouldn't be on board?

The only down side is that the author appeared to have a little more time to devote to eating healthy than the average working mom and the luxury of working from home to prepare the meals. However, she does offer several quick options. (And I'm really just making excuses for myself now.)

I can't wait to try these recipes out, starting with the Wine Biscuits with Cracked Black Pepper! I'll be posting this and some others over the next few weeks on my What's for Dinner page.
